ICS Summer in the City

Boston is at its best in the summer, and the ICS team relished the opportunity to get away from our desks and out into the sunshine. The team took several trips to view arts, get inspired, and to eat awesome food.

In July, the office hopped on the T to go enjoy lunch under Janet Echelman’s Aerial Sculpture on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. If you haven’t checked that out yet, the grassy greenway, Adirondack chairs, and conveniently located food trucks (thanks, Bon Me!) make for a relaxing, reinvigorating lunch break. The City of Boston has seen a rise in the number of art installations up and down the Greenway; we can’t wait to see what’s next!

Later in the month, we were invited to participate in Adobe’s Creative Jam at District Hall. A no-holds-barred creative competition and conference, 2 members of our design team had less than 3 hours to create a compelling design on a theme, with no knowledge of what they’d be creating ahead of time. Read all about it in Shannon’s blog post, here.

In August, we held our annual company outing, which – due to the threat of severe weather – morphed from a kayaking outing to an impromptu trip for pizza and bowling at Sacco’s Bowl-Haven. We also visited the strandbeests and explored the Boston Public Market (and, again, enjoyed some Bon Me).

And where can you spot the ICS team in September? Collaborating with Design Museum Boston, you’ll find our studio’s work as part of the new exhibit outside the Harbor Garage.

Then, on September 26, head down to Union Square and join ICS in celebrating at the 10th Annual Fluff Festival in Somerville (and check out that beautiful website!).fluff
