Cool Site of the Week: Book Cover Archive

I think this site is cool in a couple different ways. The Book Cover Archive is just what it sounds like, a site that catalogs books with nice covers. However, what separates it from the usual type of image blog or image curation type sites is how well it organizes useful information about the books. It allows you to sort by practically everything that could be interesting to someone in the design field. Not just the standard things like author or publication date, but also designer, illustrator, and even typeface. I like to sort by typeface to see the range of design that can be accomplished using the same typeface. Here’s Futura, for example.

Here’s to good information architecture and good books!
